Credit for Cellnet's past achievements, and readiness to face the challenges of the next decade, must go largely to its people. Collectively, Cellnet's 1100 staff represent a vital company asset - perhaps the largest dedicated mobile communications team in the industry - an unrivalled body of experience and expertise. Not surprisingly, for a company that has an aggressive market and product development programme, Cellnet invests substantially in helping its people to develop new and advanced skills. In October 1995, Cellnet became the first company in the telecommunications industry to be awarded 'Investor in People' accreditation, in recognition of its in-service staff training initiatives. In association with the DTI and the Industrial Society, Cellnet was voted winner of an award for Human Resource Excellence in April 1996.
