CNWL NHS Foundation Trust offers a generous relocation package to successful candidates - subject to eligibility assessment
At present this is a fixed term locum Consultant post while we prepare the paperwork for the substantive post.
If you are interested in the substantive post, please do apply for this post as well.
CNWL is one of the largest trusts in the UK, caring for people with a wide range of physical and mental health needs. We provide healthcare to a third of London, Milton Keynes and parts of Kent, Surrey and Hampshire.
As a progressive Trust, and one committed to quality, we are seeking applications for a Consultant post within the Hillingdon Community Mental Health Services. This post is based in the Community Mental Health Team at Pembroke Centre, Ruislip Manor and has become available recently. The post is based solely in the community.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious consultant to take on a full-time leadership role within our Psychiatry community based service, to provide a clinical and professional leadership role to the community team and to take part in management and teaching activities related to it.
As a senior clinician, you will have an integral role in the performance of the teams, further development of the service, and the development of the clinical pathways.
The post at present has the support of a SASG doctor and a core trainee. The consultant is expected to provide medical and clinical leadership to the team and work closely with their colleagues on the Inpatient wards, Home Treatment Team, Liaison Team and Primary Care Team to ensure best possible patient outcomes.
You will have experience in the assessment and treatment of patients with a wide range of mental health problems, be knowledgeable about evidence-based treatments, show leadership skills, demonstrate an ability to teach and have supervision skills. An aptitude to work collaboratively and respectfully in a multi-disciplinary team is essential.
Applicants must be on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council or be within 6 months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview and also have Approved Clinician status at the time that they commence the job.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative clinician and leader who will be fully conversant with the change agenda of the modern NHS and be pivotal in delivering quality services to the community in Hillingdon.
This job will be advertised as a substantive post once we have approval from the Regional Adviser.
For an informal discussion about this post, please contact: Dr Mellisha Padayatchi, Hillingdon Clinical Director (07909877143) or Kim Cox, Hillingdon Borough Director (01895891030).

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship
Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.
From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years.
