We are a busy 26 bedded Children's Ward and a 6 bedded Paediatric Assessment Unit within a District General Hospital.
Skylark Ward is a general Paediatric ward that is proud to deliver high quality care to children requiring both medical and surgical care. In the Ward Matron's role you will be supported by a dedicated team of Children's Nurses, skilled Care Assistants and a team of Hospital Play Specialists.
Within this role you will provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership for the unit with responsibility for the delivery of high standards of care for all of the babies, children, young people and their families who access our services. You will be responsible for the safe day to day running of the unit and facilitate effective communication between all members of the multi-disciplinary team
As a skilled Band 7 Matron you will be an excellent role model, provide support and leadership for all of the nursing team, sharing your knowledge and facilitating teaching and supervision to more junior members of staff and students.
