Based in North and Mid Bedfordshire .

EPUT Community Health Services Bedfordshire are currently looking for a podiatry assistant to work in the North and Mid Bedfordshire area.
You will ideally have previous experience of working with the elderly and at risk groups in a health or social care setting. You will be responsible for providing nail care and foot health advice to patients with nail pathologies who are at risk from diseases and problems such as diabetes and circulatory disorders. In addition you will also provide support to highly specialist clinicians in delivery of diabetic footcare within the acute outpatients clinic and inpatient care
You will have your own case load and will be expected to work independently and also in support of the specialist diabetic team with the supervision and guidance of senior podiatrists. Other duties will include assisting with minor surgery, health education and some stock control and ordering. In addition there will be some data input and clerical responsibilities. Consequently some computer skills will be required.

If you do not have evidenced current valid training or competencies a full training programme may be provided. This will be within both the community and acute setting by the podiatry service leading to appropriate competency for the role.

The post will be based in Bedford , but involve work at various other clinics and settings. Therefore a full valid driving licence and use of a car is essential.

As a newly appointed employee you are responsible for incurring the cost of your initial DBS check relevant to your post, the amount will be deducted from your first salary with the Trust.
