Kent Community Health Foundation Trust (KCHFT) wishes to recruit a locum consultant in genitourinary / HIV medicine. This is a 0.5 WTE post for 1 year to cover maternity leave. The successful applicant will be based at the Riverside Clinic, Gravesham Community Hospital and will also work in Sheppey Community Hospital and in the Sheppey prison cluster. The post-holder will also give advise on the management of HIV inpatients admitted to Darent Valley Hospital. There is no on-call committment.

Applicants will be required to have full GMC registration and have a license to practice. Being on the Specialist Register or eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register within six months of the date of interview would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic team providing integrated Sexual Health Services including GUM, HIV, SRH to the population of East and North Kent and Medway, and psychosexual therapy services to the whole of Kent and Medway. There are 5.6 WTE GUM/HIV consultants and 2 SRH consultants within the service.

This post offers an exciting opportunity to support the modernisation of sexual health services provided to the locality, with the emphasis on developing GUM / HIV / prison services.

Participation in research will be encouraged and supported. Continued professional development and education is actively supported.

As a dynamic organisation, with a fast changing service provision we take a flexible approach in terms of what we are able to offer. This means that we reserve the right to change the hours detailed in this advert to full time or part-time to meet the service requirements.

For Agenda for Change posts based within the Dartford, Gravesham & Swanley areas of Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust also receive an allowance of a 5% high cost area allowance on top of basic salary up to a maximum of 1,682. Please note that this element does not apply to bank positions.
